1980’s Themed Community Event Benefiting People with IDD in Orange County
ANAHEIM, Calif. – Sept. 5, 2019 – PRLog — My Day Counts has been serving people with Intellectual/Developmental Disabilities (IDD) in Orange County, California since 1951. Today the organization services more than 450 people at their newly renovated Training Center in the City of Anaheim, just down the road from Disneyland.
On Saturday, September 7, 2019 over 200 Walk & Rollers will be in attendance at Irvine Regional Park in the City of Orange for the organization’s first ever community based Walk. The goal of the 2019 Walk And Roll is to raise awareness about the programs and services available to people with IDD and to fundraise for the organization. This inaugural event is being chaired by Sarah Whitebirch, Sr. Program Manager at the organization.
“What an incredible opportunity for people of all abilities from our community to come together for a fun filled morning while raising awareness about the life empowering programs and services we have to offer,” said Michael Galliano, President & CEO – My Day Counts.
In addition to raising community awareness, the event also serves as the organizations primary fundraiser. This year’s generous corporate and community partnerships include Kimberly-Clark, Baron HR, Glatfelter, Sunset Packaging, UG Healthcare (USA) Inc., Anthem Blue Cross, and The Knights of Columbus, Council 8238 of Yorba Linda.
