Two Charitable Organizations Forge a Lasting Partnership Benefiting the Local Community

ANAHEIM, Calif. – June 6, 2019 – PRLog — Two community based nonprofit organizations with very different missions have been operating on the same street in Anaheim California for decades. My Day Counts serves people with disabilities and GOALS serves school aged children. Through their innovative partnership, together these community organizations have been quietly breaking down the barriers and stereotypes which are often associated with people with disabilities. By bringing their two very different worlds together to offer a program that includes sports, nutrition, gardening, technology and the arts, these two pillars of the community are planting seeds of change that will last a lifetime for the people they each serve.

The summer portion of the this innovative collaboration will culminate on Wednesday, August 14, 2019 from 10:00am – 12:00pm. The central activity of the day will be a walk, Steps Towards a Healthy Lifestyle which will be held at GOALS HQ Dreamscape Too in Anaheim.

“The walk will help us send the message that when youth and adults with unique abilities work together, genuine acceptance and long-term positive change can be achieved” said Kinsley Brittain, Program Director at My Day Counts.

The walk will also serve as a Fundraiser for the partnerships summer initiatives and year-round fitness enrichment program that promotes the importance of staying active and the benefits of maintaining a healthy lifestyle.
